Indian car enthusiasts have always been passionate about luxury cars. They have an undying spirit and love for owning such cars. This obsession with luxury cars may be one of the strongest reasons for the success of Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, and the likes.
Within a span of a few years, the Indian car industry has started to become swarmed with famous global car brands from renowned car manufacturers who have globally proved their mettle. These car companies have received a great response to their luxury cars. Most of their sedans, small cars and SUVs have become a grand success inspite of being highly priced.
This trend is clearly seen in the successful sales numbers that each of the luxury car makers have achieved over the past few years. Last month saw 241 BMWs sold. BMW is so confident of the market that they have set themselves a sales target of 10,000 cars by 2010. Audi and Mercedes-Benz have similar success stories to tell.

The Indian car market has come along way and so is the Indian standard of living.Owning a luxury car has become a style statement. And with luxury cars becoming popular more and more luxury car makers are pouring in.
The success clearly shows that there was always a market for cars waiting in India. The west suddenly woke up to the market only after hearing about the several success stories like IT, takeover by India companies and others. what they reaped here is beyond their expectations. Obviously they are smiling.
Luxury car market growth symbolises the confidence of these companies in the Indian economy. It is amazing that they are selling such huge numbers in India where display of wealth has been shunned for a long time. Cars are definitely part of the Indian lifestyle and are here to stay.
The demand for the luxury car is increasing every day. With a word with the luxury car dealers, i realized that in the olden days the luxury cars were owned by the businesses man or a political leader or an highly paid celebrity but now the trend has changed in a big way. But in the recent past even the doctors, it professional, engineers also are the proud owners of these cars.
Indian economy is booming and the people who look for status symbols would obviously go for such cars. But these cars are admired for their power and sophistication, both of which are difficult to use in Indian conditions. The bulk of the car power will be unused, hence these car will remain underutilised.
Luxury car are now undoubtedly becoming too popular than earlier in India. Many car manufacturers particularly BMW, Audi are attracting more people than ever. I recently bought a BMW 3 series, but i am quite impressed with its fabulous interior and luxurious equipments provided for high level of comfort. Though luxury car are priced heavily, fine and quality features, level of comfort and elegant look win the hearts of luxury car lovers.
