Foreign cars-Indian price
The race is on to capture the
small car segment in
India. While many car manufacturers are toying with ideas of releasing small cars at ultra-low costs to reach out to the common man in
India, foreign car manufacturers are also thinking the same.
BMW, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Volvo and Fiat for example are striving hard to make their cars affordable in India and also to enable at the least upper-middle class to be able to own their cars by shelling out decent amounts. Not to be left behind, Fiat has already decided to roll out its most popular European small car Fiat 500 and the Fiat Bravo at Rs.10 lakh in India. Volkswagen and BMW are waiting to release the Beetle and Mini Cooper brands respectively within the limit of Rs. 20 lakh.
The entry of foreign cars with competitive price tags in India will surely make Indian car manufacturers to give good cars at reasonable price.

It is nice to know that foreign car makers are bowing down to meet the Indian demands. As we all know that small cars are the best suited for us and majority of people opt for it.Presently it the Tata's and Maruti who rule the small car segment. Now let wait and watch what the big car brands have to offer in the small car segment.
I wonder why small cars be charged so high. Those who go for small cars are usually first time car owners and would not splurge on something which can get them a decent sedan. All they will be paying for is brand names, which an be hollow, during re-sale.
Foreign or no, Cars will have to comply with the Indian kind of spending. The same money that works in Germany may not be feasible here. Of course people may not get the same safety facilities, but who cars. We are getting a BMW for much lesser that's all ya!
