Indian car industry has assumed great importance globally after the Tata Nano was unveiled at the 9th Auto Expo and recently at the Geneva Motor Show. Many global car manufacturers, who have announced the launch of their cars in India in the near future, are not taking any chances and are already announcing the exact year of launch and if it will be sedan, hatchback or SUV.

The growth of Indian economy has boosted sales of cars, and made India a important destination for cars manufacturers. India has been attracting many premium brands, which are now seeing the country as a promising center.
The rising Indian economy has given hope to car manufactures that there is a market for their products in India, for the first time. I think the seriousness to adhere to launch date has been because of Tata Motors which has always maintained its strict schedule.
India is a big market now. Europe and US have become stagnant and the slipping US economy is forcing people to take Asian Giants seriously.
They will adhere to all their policies to keep them buoyant during the US market recession period. India is gaining because it is an after thought by car manufacturers
