Another jewel in Tata’s crown

Tata Motors has taken the entire world by storm when it unveiled world’s cheapest car Nano at auto expo and earned the reputation of being mass car producer. By acquiring Ford’s luxury and premium brand Jaguar and Land Rover, Tata Motors has also proved its commitment towards producing high end class cars. It added one more jewel in the Tata’s crown.

Tata has taken very decisive and bold step by acquiring JLR brand from global player Ford. Tata has become a world-class car maker by clinching this deal for $2.3 billion. With this deal, Tata Motors has set the entire auto world on fire and also proved global players wrong who thought Tata can only make cheapest car than high end model as it will now produce cars ranging from Rs 1 lakh to 1 crore.

Tata's buyout of JLR has been a major boost to Indian car industry. No longer will the world look upon Indian car makers fit for low end model. If Tata increases the production of the two cars, it will certainly give a tough competition to the likes of Mercedes and BMW.

I think this deal is one of the most foolish deal ever made !

Ford had bought the two brands for about $5 billion about 20 years ago - made huge losses. Now it has sold the same to Tata Motors make up as much as possible - for $ 2 billion.

I wonder how Tata things it made a big deal purchasing the brands where are no longer sought after in world.

Tata Motors has taken a bold step by acquiring the Jaguar and brands from Ford. The Indian car manufactures which is know for producing cheapest cars now has the most costliest brands also. I think Tata’s with its vast marketing experience and knowing the pulse of buyers in cheap markets will be market the to iconic brands in a better way.

I complement Ratan Tata for taking such historic step to acquire Ford's luxury car brands. Tata has shot the India into a limelight after introducing the cheapest car, nano at auto expo, now it has made the country's position strong in global car market by acquiring JLR brands. Rata Tata's business strategies, bold steps and courage to take new challenges would really inspire young entrepreneurs to achieve great tasks in life.
