I have always appreciated Tata for their exemplary social responsibility programmes. I recently came across news that Tata has employed 80 youths from the displaced Singur farm land area into their company. These youths are now being given 15-month training to turn them into multi-skilled workers. They will be given on-the-job training at the Tata Motors facility.
I believe this will give major relief to the West Bengal and Nandigram-Singur farmers protest issue. I am not here to take any sides in the protest. I am just conveying my thoughts over the developments - that is all. Tata should employ more people from the local population. This will help turn the once-poor town into another Jamshedpur.

I am glad that Tata has employed youths displaced in Singur land acquisition process.
But i woudl like to point out that with these lands th youth would be free to have a self reliant life. Is free enterprise being curbed for corporate enterprise. I hope not!
It is great news that Tata is offering employment to the Singur farmers. It is going to be a great relief to the farmers. Hope other will also learn from Tata's
I am sure Singur will turn into another Jamshedpur. I think naming the city after Ratan Tata, would be perfect. It can be named Ratanpur.
I believe that Tata is only trying to pacify some protesters that they are serious about rehabilitating the people it has displaced. I believe that there must e hundreds of youths who are now jobless after loosing their lands. Giving jibs to only a few will not solve the problem. There must be a comprehensive policy for the displaced people.
The initiative by Tata is appreciable. Industrialization is inevitable in this technology dependent society. But i hope Tata comes up with more jobs for local youth. This will be a befitting tribute to the people who have given away their lands to realize Tata's dreams.
