Maruti ultra-cheap small car: is it a rumor?
I recently read that Maruti is planning to come up with a low cost car which will be in competition with Nano. But I also came across news saying that the company denies this news and says it is a rumor. At present they have no plans of making a car that will be priced below the Maruti 800.

The company is now concentrating on rolling out strategic models like the A-Star and Splash in India. Their recently launched SX4 and the Grand Vitara are performing extremely well ensuring international standard and style to consumers.

If Maruti’s low cost car is just a rumor, then I will definitely be disappointed coz Maruti is one of the most reliable brands with good service. Tata’s Nano must be sighing in relief!

i agree that Maruti offers excellent services. It is available in all places of Indian. It has truly taken the tag 'consumer is king' seriously and tries to reach the consumer instead of the other way around. I also own a Maruti Alto and i am satisfied with its services. Tata or No Tata, Maruti is a winner.

I sure do hope that Maruti does not go into small car business. The 800 has got a bad design and is already stripped to basics of a car. I dread to think of a suzuki ultra cheap car.

I am actually expecting Maruti to manufacture small car like Nano with a low price tag than Maruti 800. Maruti had already made the dream of middle class family to own small at affordable reality through 800. If it brought out one more small car at cost of Rs 1 lakh to compete with Nano, all most all families will own cars in India. Maruti should think over it.
