Children like car adverts
In a recent report it stated that 64 percent of children like watching car commercials on television in India. In fact, these kids are a huge influence on their parents while buying cars. They not only remember the names of manufacturers but also the highlights of the cars as shown in the commercials. I witnessed the same in my own house where my four year old son watches car commercials with great concentration. He can recite 30 car model names in a single breath – even I don’t know so many!
I wonder if the next generation is going to be more scholastic in car jargon than other subjects. Cars are surely going to be a major part of India’s future. I just hope this is not going to an adverse effect on my kid?

I agree with Deepti. My six year old daughter too likes watching car advertisements. The other day she suggested we should buy an Audi. Dont brush it away as child task. Think about it, i just own a Maruti 800 and Audi is unthinkable. Will the next generation become more materialistic than the present. I hope not.
Its absolutely right that children are more obsessed with ads on cars. Very recently we bought i10 because my 8 years old daughter, who watched Sharukh Khan driving i10 in TV ad, kept insisting on us to buy it. At last, we dropped our idea of buying Santro Xing and bought i10.
Ads not only interests kids but also elders.I too love watching ads on cars, they tempt you to buy a car.But Indian ads have to be more creative.
