Car Ads Target “Happily Ever After”!
I saw this cool ad recently in an online portal by Hyundai i10 that said ‘start your married life with i10’. I got married a couple of months back and this ad got me to thinking. Hyundai is promoting the i10 as a marriage gift to newly married couples, which looks like a smart way of promoting sales in a country where most people get married between 18 to 30 years of age and have started earning from the age of 21.
I mean as soon as I got married, the first thing I wanted to do was get a nice new car! Four of the five recently married colleagues in my office took a loan out and got a car within one to two months after their marriage. So, this definitely looks like a trend that many manufacturers may not have paid attention to.
Looks to me like a shift in the promotional tactics of car sales. It is no longer the middle-aged parents driving their families out for holidays, but rather a newly wed couple going off for small vacations to affordable places every weekend! Well I was definitely influenced and from what I have heard the i10 is a great car to have, so I just placed an order and hope to get it soon!

Hyundai i10 has definitely got the pulse of India- marriages. cars are taking the place of scooters nowadays. Can anyone remember the hamara bajaj ad, where they showed a newly married couple riding on a bajaj scooter.
It sure was more fun than most car ads now. I hope Hyundai comes out with something similar.
When I got married six months back, I haven't come across any such ads but on my own I gifted my wife a TVS Scooty. Very recently, one of my neighbors, who also my friend got married and on the same day, my friend with his wife came down to home directly from the marriage hall with his parents in an eye-catching i10 car. After a day, he proudly said to me and my wife that he presented the i10 as marriage gift to his wife. He also explained about i10's ad. I was inspired by it; I also booked for i10 very next day to gift it to my wife as marriage gift.
I am a 48 year old person and even i came across that ad and i really liked it.It kind of give a feeling of 'Good Luck' for anything new start.
My daughter will be tieing a knot soon and i have decided to gift her i10 as wedding gift.
