Tata’s small car headed for Europe
The most eagerly awaited Tata 1 lakh car is headed to Europe. It will make an appearance at the Geneva Motor Show soon after the January Auto Expo in Delhi this year. The Geneva motor show in March will be its first European appearance.

Tata Motors plans to showcase the car worldwide as a preview before its planned launch into the European market. Whether the car will be open to test drives in Geneva is not clear. Tata has decided not to allow for test drives at the Auto Expo.

While the small car has heralded a rat race for cheap cars among many auto majors, it has raised a lot of questions about safety and emission standards. Tata’s other car, the Indigo, had come in for much criticism in South Africa some time back. As a result of this, it’s to be seen whether the world’s cheapest car will get favourable reviews from the mature western public.

Tata's car is not just most-awaited, it's most-critised also. Great that it's driving down to the European market.
