Tata Motors was named as preferred bidder by the car giant Ford for sale of its two Brit luxury brands, Jaguar and Land Rover, after evaluating interests by Mahindra and Mahindra and the private equity firm OneEquity.
This definitely looks like the Ford Group in the US has made up their minds and that soon Indian roads may be swarming with Land Rover and Jaguar brands!
Tata's are growing and expanding themselves in a very big way. Their new production plan with jaguar is the seems like they will be a big hit in US too. All the best!
The Jaguar-Tata production plan in its final stage, Tata Motors have strategies its 2007-2008 productions putting a lot of thought. Now it's getting foreign brands under its arm. Way to go!
I hope that the jaguar and Land Rover brands do land in tata's laps. That will give a big push to Indian car market. This could mark a new era in the Indian commerce. Not only will car manufacturers benefit but also other sectors will be taken seriously by the European markets and open up to Indian business houses.
It is the matter of pride that TATA's will be setting up a production plan Jaguar. This also means that Indians roads will soon be filled with more Jaguars.
