What I know is that it will be offered in 3 variants and only the base variant will have an ex-showroom price of one lakh.
To know exactly how heavy it’s going to be on your pockets, you’ll have to wait until October when the Nano will be commercially launched. I can tell you this much though… if you are saving exactly one lakh for this car, you might find yourself falling a little short when you go to purchase it. Don’t forget that you’ll be paying VAT, octroi and related taxes for the car. The price is definitely going to cross the ‘one lakh’ mark by a few thousand. I’m thinking 1.4 Lakh. Still a good price for a car though.

Guesses as much... Nano will never cost exact 1 lakh rupees. With VAT and other expenses tagged along, it would cost above Rs 1.75 lakh in my calculation. The other two models may cost even more.
Nano is still the cheapest car in the world and it is affordable by millions. Most people who buy bikes worth Rs 60-70,000 would not mind investing a few more thousands for a "car". After all it can carry four persons and reduce road risk by several times. Nevertheless it is going to be a good buy, which will not be regretted. Hopefully.....
I agree with Narendra. Th eend result is there for everybody to see. The cost of Nano car when it leaves the Tata Plant is actually Rs one lakh. Reports now reveal the it will be anywhere from Rs 1.45 lakh to 1.5 lakh, which is a significant jump from Rs one lakh.
