Cars to run on CAT
Here is another version of car that is going to hit Indian roads soon. With the increase in fuel prices, India is making an effort to manufacture the cars with Compressed Air Technology (CAT) and will be green in every sense. Now, CAT is little technical, let us brief you about it. This technology uses compressed air as energy storage and can be combined with hybrid gasoline/diesel or electric plant and regenerative braking.

Compressed-air vehicles are as good as electric vehicles. Advantages of this technology are that it provides high torque for minimum volume, simple mechanical engine, and easy maintenance besides; these air-bottles can be disposed or recycled. At time when the pollution became one of major problems in the country, these environmental-friendly vehicles come as boon to make the country free from pollution.

India is surely leapfrogging in car technology. The country need not go through the grind that western countries have gone through to arrive where they are now- at the top of technology. As beneficiaries if this technology i hope that the emission guzzling cars are no more marketed in India. Hybrid cars are the need of the hour.Electric cars have a lot to prove before they can become commercially viable. If the author could have also stated the name of the manufacturer of CAT, it would have saved me a lot googling time.
