It seems like the bugs came swarming into the streets of Bangalore on January 20, 2008. The sight was a beauty to behold. The Volkswagen Beetle car rally was the main attraction. The ‘Herbie’ car rally was the first of its kind in the country.
Fifteen vintage Beetle cars went across the busy roads of the city like a royal procession decked up in bright, newly painted colors carrying the Volkswagen flag on their front. Beetle reminds me of a lost world charm. I was overjoyed on seeing the rally in Bangalore. It came as a surprise when 15 cars rolled beside my 800 on MG road. They looked more majestic and elegant than any other small car I have set my eyes on.
I hope this car rally has inspired many more car lovers to participate in such vintage car rallies.

it is really nice to a 'bug' buzzing on the road with all other new motors around.Beetle in itself is a beauty and takes over all the attention however crowded it is.
As the city Bangalore still retains the charm if a small town, on 20th January this year, the city brought down the same old charm with a touch of royalty. The Volkswagen Rally caught almost everyone's attention.
What a gem
I found your blog on yahoo poking around for something totally unrelated, and now I’m going to need to go back and go through all the old posts XD Good bye my free time today, but this was a truly amazing find!!!
Four-door coupes are nothing new these days, what with vehicles like the Mercedes-Benz CLS and Volkswagen CC proving that these stylish sedans do, in fact, have a place in the automotive world. What’s more, Audi’s swoopy A7 is nearing its final stages of development, and higher-end coupe-sedans like the Aston Martin Rapide and Porsche Panamera have indeed caught our attention in recent months. BMW is now jumping on that train, and the automaker has officially debuted its Concept Gran Coupé at this year’s Beijing Motor Show.
This was really interesting. I loved reading it
