Time to say, how many stars to A-Star?
As the Suzuki motor decides to source compact cars from Maruti for their global market, the latter plans to rollout A-Star by 2009. It is a really good venture for Maruti and its parent Suzuki.
Now they are preparing to launch the new car, which will be the first indigenously designed, styled, and produced Indian car with Europe as the primary target. The team of engineers is burning the midnight oil in Maruti’s Manesar plant to develop this car, slated to be unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo in Jan 2008.
However, the production car that will be exported to Europe will be different from the one being showcased – better or worse will be decided when the model is officially rolled out.

Another feather gets added to Maruti's hat with the launch of A-star. India's leading car maker will hopefully become a car-design hub for the world. However, Maruti should showcased the car model meant for European market. This could have showcased India's strengths in car making clearly.
Maruti's car should hopefully be of international standards, as its is venturing into countries where cars are part of daily life.
