Tata Motors is planning to conduct a test run of the much awaited one lakh car by April 2008 on a new track. The prototype car has already been prepared and will be showcased at the Auto Expo 2008, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The small car will get a 600 cc engine and four doors. The car is expected to hit the Indian roads by mid 2008.
The operations are in full-swing to roll out this car and enter the small car segment in India. Tata's plant is buzzing with brisk activities as equipments started arriving where car is being manufactured. Tata Motors has made all arrangements including power substation, effluent water treatment plant was set up to complete this project.

Indians buyers have been awaiting this one lac Tata car for so long. Curosity has been building up, the day it was announced, that whether it will fit the conventional mould, be it lookwise or performance wise, with the car priced so cheap. Anyways,the wait finally seems to come to end with its prototype all set to be showcased at Auto Expo 2008.
