Ford India becomes first to be awarded the ISO/TS

The competition between vehicle manufacturing companies within India is fierce. Ford India goes a step ahead its competitors by becoming the First Indian original equipment manufacturing (OEM) industry to be awarded an IS0/TS 16949:2000 certification.

ISO/TS 16949:2002 aligns to American (QS-9000), German (VDA6.1), French (EAQF), Italian (AVSQ), and Asian Automotive Quality System Standards within the Global Automotive Industry. ISO/TS certification is issued for sticking to quality and norms while performing according to parameters set for good customer service.

The Ford Motor Company is the second largest automaker in the world. The company’s world headquarters is in Dearborn, Michigan. As a result of economic liberalization in India, Ford entered the Indian automobile market. Ever since it made its entry into India, Ford India Limited continues to perform and has registered an impressive growth.

In India, the company’s plant is located in Maraimalai Nagar near Chennai which has the capacity to produce about 100,000 vehicles per annum. Ford Endeavour, Ford Fiesta, Ford Ikon, and Ford Fusion are some of the models that Ford has rolled out on Indian roads.

  1. A car as powerful as the Bugatti Veyron can do a great many things. Crest the 400 km/h mark. Burn through fuel and rubber faster than a jumbo jet on take-off with the parking brake engaged. But how about stop time? Maybe if you lay down all that twist in the opposite direction off the earth’s rotation. Or bring back a rumor that first reared its head some four years ago.
