DaimlerChrysler - from Mercedes to public transport in India
Germany’s luxury car manufacturer DaimlerChrysler is planning to get into the public commuting sector in India. DaimlerChrysler builds cars that allure the rich class of the urban Indian society. It recently launched the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class in India that costs close to one Crore. As this manufacturer witnesses a massive growth in its passenger vehicle (Mercedes-Benz) production and consumption, it now wants to target the public transport sector in India.
A successful truck trade in India has led this manufacturer to believe in the idea of manufacturing buses to gratify the Indian public. Though the final decision is yet to be taken, DaimlerChrysler seem keen to enter India in this segment.
The positive growth in India’s auto parts market that caters to the auto part requirements of different parts of the world and the noticeable increase in the sales of luxury cars in India has made DaimlerChrysler look at India with optimistic eyes.
