Car security for Pedestrians
Usually, safety features and security systems in a car aim at protecting the occupants, when an accident occurs. There are features like airbags, head restraints, collapsible steering-wheel and many other accessories that protect the passengers from incurring serious injuries.

What if a vehicle hits a pedestrian?

Nissan is developing a concept called “pop-up engine", a safety feature to protect a walker-by. When a collision occurs, a protective cushion instantly pops out to save the victim from serious injuries. This feature will initially be seen in the latest Skyline Coupe. In the near future it can be expected that all Nissan models as well as different manufacturers will adopt this technology that aims to protect innocent pedestrians in a car-pedestrian collision.
